Hands-On Learning: Students Repair Gazebo
Celebration Villa of Altoona recently welcomed a talented group of carpentry students from the Greater Altoona Career and Technology Center for a meaningful and hands-on community project. Over the course of three weeks, students worked together to repair the roof and cupola of the community’s gazebo, bringing new life to a beloved outdoor gathering space.
The project was completed by rotating crews of students, giving each participant the opportunity to gain real-world experience while contributing to a local senior living community. Under guidance and teamwork, the students demonstrated impressive craftsmanship, dedication, and pride in their work.
Beyond the technical skills gained, the project highlights the power of community partnerships. Residents and staff at Celebration Villa of Altoona were able to see the transformation firsthand, while students experienced the value of giving back through their trade.
